Welcome to the Cattewater Pilot Gig Club website

The club is based at the Mount Batten Watersports Centre, Turnchapel, Plymouth.

We regularly row out into Plymouth Sound and up the River Plym.  During the summer months we compete in regatta's throughout the South West.

We own two plastic training boats to enable us to row throughout the year, mainly during the winter while we are maintaining our existing boats to get them back on the water for the future season.

We recently purchased a brand new wooden gig, lovingly made by Brian Nobbs, which we named Catalina.

If you are interesting in giving gig rowing a try please check out our novice page.

We are holding our annual regatta on the 2nd August 2014.  We will have stalls on the green outside the Mount Batten Pub.  The Mount Batten breakwater will have a fantastic view of the racing that will be  going on in Jennycliff Bay and start around midday.  Come along to soak up the atmosphere and support your local gig rowing club.

Video's of cattewater racing at a number of regattas now online!
