Maintenance

Work At Bovisand

    * Check white to ensure no areas have been missed and touch in as necessary – thin coats as always to prevent runs and excess build up!
    * Varnishing can on the gunwhales (boat top edges) and seats. Ensure the wood is clean and free from paint spills, use sandpaper / white spirit to clean.  Using masking tape on all surrounding paintwork.  Hopefully a couple of us will get the first thinned coat done on Friday afternoon.
    * All floorboards now fully glossed and just require metal fittings to be screwed back on (not sure if this has been done yet)
    * Rudders need green just touching in on any scratches with have been undercoated in white.  Cat rudder will need possible sand and new varnish on the top varnished bit.

Things to bring;

    * Quality paintbrush
    * Rags
    * White Spirit
    * Masking Tape
    * P80 and or P120 / P180 sandpaper
    * Jam jars or pots for sharing paint and cleaning brushes

Other Stuff
    * Oars are situated at MBC, crews to sand varnish their kit as required. This could be done if large numbers turn up at Bovi and work is not available for all
    * Note - All yokes and rudders at MBC are fine and require no maintenance

Directions to Bovi Lodge are as follows;

Drive to Jennycliff from Mountbatten, and follow coast road up a windy hill for about a mile past Staddon Heights golf course, then second right - should be sign posted for Bovisand - then downhill for half a mile until reaching Bovisands car park - then do a U-turn and you will see the Bovi Lodge sign (caravan park).  Follow the drive until you reach the lodge (big white house), park in large car park on the left. Shed is right next to the car park, second door from left.

Cheers all

Matt
